BMW E65

The BMW E65 is a car platform that is used as a foundation for the BMW 7 Series. It was first introduced in 2002, and as of 2007, it is still being used. The E65 was designed to replace the BMW E38, and this model is distinct for having a wheel base which is quite small. When this model was first introduced, many felt that BMW was going in a new design direction. Chris Bangle was the chief of design, and he used a number of visual features that were quite bold at the time. As with any new thing, the E65 design was met with a certain degree of controversy, especially from those who supported the E38.

It is the E65 which is known for the Bangle butt design of its rear. In 2005, the company finally made the decision to tone it down. The E65 falls under the full size luxury class, and it is designed to compete with the likes of the Audi A8, and the Lexus LS series. Another powerful innovation of this model is the iDrive function. Like the Bangle butt rear, the iDrive feature has also become the subject of controversy. While it was praised for being able to handle a large number of functions simultaneously, the learning curve was very high. When the company made changes to the design ine65 bmw 2005, and they also reduced the learning curve of the iDrive system.

The engine in the E65 is extremely powerful. It can come with two engines, and these are the 6L V12 engine or the 4.4 L V8 engine. As far as the iDrive system is concerned, it has been simplified to the point where it is comparable to the BMW 5 Series, and the controversy which once surrounded it has largely been diminished. Overall, the iDrive is extremely powerful, and it gives you access to both GPS and the Internet.
