BMW Series

The contemporary BMW brands are designated by a single number followed by the word "series." The company decided in 2004 that it would use odd number for sedans and wagons, and even number for coupes. The first of the BMW cars is the 1 Series, which was first showcased in the fall of 2004. The 1 Series is a vehicle that is designed for families. Of all the cars in this class, the 1 Series is the only vehicle which uses a rear wheel drive. The company also plans on building a 1 Series coupe by the end of 2007, and the 1 Series will use the same engine as the 320i.

The 3 Series is a vehicle that falls under the introductory luxury sedan category. It is also known as the E90 and it was introduced in Canada and the United States in 2006. It may come with a 2.0 L engine or a 14 diesel engine which can produce 163 horse power. The cabriolet will come with a hard top roof that is retractable. The E93 is one of the most advanced models in the series, and BMW wants to showcase its high end technology. The E90 3 Series has been given awards such as the "World Car of The Year" for its features and options. Another popular series is the 5 Series.

The 5 Series is an executive car that is medium in size. It has a number of luxury features, and it can be equipped with a number of different engines. Some cars within this series will use the same engine as the  325i. This series is known for using high performance V8 engines. The 5 Series can produce as much as 360 horse power. The 6 Series is another variation that you will want to become familiar with. 6 Series BMWs use a 4.8 L V8 engine, and they also can produce up to 360 horsepower. The M6 is the most powerful model in this series. The 7 Series is a high end luxury car, and it is designed to compete with Jaguar, Audi, and Mercedes vehicles.
