BMW X3

The BMW X3 is an SUV that falls under the compact luxury category. While most people commonly refer to it as an SUV, it is actually called a SAV by BMW, which stands for Sport Activity Vehicle. The X3 uses the 3 Series platform, and this vehicle was given the Canadian Car of the Year Award. Despite the fact that it is a compact vehicle, it comes with 4 doors, and it uses a four wheel drive system. The X3 comes with a 3 L 260 horsepower engine, and the owner can choose either a six speed automatic transmission or a six speed manual transmission. The X3 was first introduced as a concept car in 2003.

It should be noted that only the basic structure of the concept was used in the final product. One notable feature that comes with the X3 is the xDrive system. The xDrive was powerful because of its ability to become activated in the event that the car became unstable, and it would become aware of this before the driver. Also, the system was invisible, and the driver could not see it. However, as soon as the vehicle was introduced, it became the subject of controversy. The SAV had a rough ride, and this was largely due to the run flat tires, and the quality of the interior did not meet expectations.

Additionally, the off road capabilities of the X3 have also been scrutinized. The controversy caused BMW to deal with multiple problems in 2005, and they focused on producing a ride which was much smoother. Another thing that has annoyed many consumers is that the X3 is not even produced in a BMW factory. However, the Austrian factory where it was produced is one of the best in Europe, and they have even been given awards for their high level of service. In the end, the opinions of the X3 were mostly mixed.
